I developed my building skills from my Dad, who had built our house in the early 1950’s, so with his helping hand and guidance, he helped me build my first house.   The beautiful chimneys were built with antique brick from the Manchester New Hampshire mills, providing for two beautiful fireplaces.  I built a beautiful wine cellar with the extra brick.   We sold the house very quickly in the Spring of 1998.  The family who purchased the house still owns today and were kind to send me photos of their new kitchen!

When we sold the Pasture Lane house in 1998, we moved to Woodstock Vermont for a new Job.  Our first two years in Woodstock, I built the Peterkin Hill house.   I purchased the house plans from Vermont Vernacular Designs.   This was a beautiful house with a great location.  My building design style has a strong historical base, with a modern style.  As Marketing executive, I learned customers buying a house in Vermont what a new historical style house, a house lot with a view, Maple trees and stone walls.  When you have the above, it will sell when the market is up or down.

Photo of kitchen is from current home owners.   I installed this kitchen in 1990, Crown Point cabinets with a Sub Zero refrigerator and Wolf appliances.  Quality lasts.  I will discuss this later on my house renovation in 2009.

2004 Clifden House

100img.png

I built this House in 2004 right down the street from my 2000 Peterkin Hill House; again I focused on Historical design, with elements of Greek Rival Farm house.  Also on this property was a separate Barn as a Carriage house.  This was on 9 acres, with a spectacular view.  This house was all about outdoor living, providing over 1300 square feet of fir ceiling covered porch.   Construction was two years and we lived in the house for two years.   On the view side there was a steep drop off, which is why I called it Clifden.  My Grandparents immigrated from Ireland and my family are Irish citizens.   If you travel through the Connemara area, you will see beautiful stone, which you will see in many of my projects.   It must be genetic  wiring, because I love working with stone.  Great link on area information:

I won a 2005 Merit Award from Custom Home Magazine for this house:
